Harvesters
The purpose of Harvesters Adult Bible Fellowship (or ABF) ministry of Medinah Baptist Church is to provide fellowship, support, and biblical teaching for adults. We strive to provide an atmosphere in which everyone can deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ, as well as draw others to a personal relationship with Him.
We believe God has equipped each one of us to serve one another through prayer, encouragement, and acts of service. We also desire to follow Christ’s example by reaching out to the community to show them the love of God in all that we do.
Harvesters offer a variety of events and activities through which we can build relationships, serve each other, and grow in Christ.
NURTURING
Building one another up and bearing each other’s burdens is essential to any body of believers. We accomplish this through sharing prayer requests both in class and through a telephone or e-mail prayer chain. We also provide meals, cards, and flowers, and any support to those who are ill, have had surgery or have other needs. Meeting the needs of others in the community is also important in following the example of Christ. Through prayer, meals, and various service projects, Harvesters has and will continue to meet the needs of our community.
SOCIAL EVENTS
The Harvester social committee plans an activity designed to be fun and relaxing. This is a great way to foster friendships! We have both adult and family activities. Some favorite activities have been: Our Annual Christmas Party, Progressive Dinner New Year’s Eve Party, Picnics, Game Nights, and other enjoyable and memorable experiences.
From time to time, Harvesters class members can participate in “conversational dessert nights”. People meet in homes along with 5 0r 6 others, each contributing by bringing a dessert to share with the group. This is a wonderful way to “get to know” other class members!
Sunday Morning
We meet in the Chapel at 9:00 a.m. There is always plenty of hot coffee, refreshments and great fellowship! Our teacher provides us with solid biblical teaching with life applications and opportunity for lots of discussion. Harvesters’ class members have fun together as we study the word of God.
Home Groups
Many of our group members meet in homes twice a month for Bible study and fellowship. This provides an excellent way to develop and nurture meaningful friendships. It is also a way to be accountable in your walk with God as we grow together in our relationship with Christ.
