About Me
I graduated from Eastern Illinois University in May of 2010 with my bachelor’s in English and teacher certification. Since high school, I've been passionate about missions and serving through short term trips. Of the various places I've taken trips to, none has captured my heart quite like Mexico.
During my junior year of college, I heard about Niños de México from one of my roomates and decided to apply to their summer internship program. Niños de México works with abandoned, abused, and neglected children in the Mexico City area to provide them with a Christian home environment and an education. After interning, I developed a heart for Niños de México and a desire to be involved in their ministry. From the day I returned to the U.S., I began praying and seeking God’s direction for my life after graduation. In time it became clear that He was leading me back to Mexico.
Currently, I am serving on staff here at Niños de México and will be here until God calls me elsewhere. My responsibilities include teaching English classes at the private Christian school, being a spiritual mentor to the girls, helping in one of the children's homes, and being in charge of our child sponsorship program. Plain and simple, my ministry is to show God's love to these children as best as I can.
